TOKEN2049 closes on Thursday the 8th. Formula 1 takes the streets outside Marina Bay Sands from Friday the 9th. Same square kilometre, same week, and most people book their flight home before they notice.

Sprint qualifying on the Friday, qualifying on the Saturday, the race on Sunday. It is the final sprint weekend of the season.
Singapore time. A night race since 2008, the first one Formula 1 ever ran after dark, and still the one the calendar is built around.
Marina Bay, run on public roads that close for the weekend. Bumpy, tight, and walled the whole way round.
Around eighty percent humidity with it. Widely called the most physically demanding race of the year, and the grandstands are not much kinder.
The hackathon opens on the 6th and the good side events start before the conference does. Landing Wednesday morning means missing the half of the week where people actually talk to each other.
The closing party is on the Friday night, fifty seven floors up at the Marina Bay Sands SkyPark, and the race weekend opens the same day. Friday is the worst day of the six to leave.
Twenty five thousand conference attendees and a Grand Prix crowd want the same beds in the same week. Marina Bay rates in that window are not a normal Singapore hotel market.

The circuit is public road for fifty weeks of the year. On race weekend the barriers go up across the middle of town, the bridges you were walking over shut, and your usual route to Marina Bay Sands stops existing.
If your trip now runs from the 6th to the 12th, the five day ESIM does not cover it. The ten day plan does, at $26.85.
Road closures reroute half the island. Grab pickup points move. Gate entry is a QR code on a screen. A hundred thousand people are on the same cell towers along the same waterfront, and the venue has no Wi-Fi to fall back on.
In, conference, out. Nothing either side.
The hackathon, both conference days and the closing party.
The whole week with a day of slack at each end.
TOKEN2049 and the entire Grand Prix weekend.
Singapore stitched onto a longer run through Asia.
Staying on after the circus leaves town.
Road closures, which gates open when, where the taxis actually pick up, and the side events that run alongside the race. Sent once, the week before.

More than a thousand side events run across TOKEN2049 week and there is no single directory for them. We keep one.
